Journey by train to Llandudno and, on arrival, we will make our way to the Empire Hotel, our hotel for the next five nights. We enjoy free time to explore our new surroundings before meeting for our first evening meal together.

Today, we travel by coach to Blaenau Ffestiniog, where we board the world‑famous narrow‑gauge Ffestiniog Railway, following the historic route once used by slate trains to reach Porthmadog. The afternoon is free to enjoy lunch, explore the harbour, or visit the maritime museum. Later, we return by steam train, climbing the steep gradients back to Blaenau Ffestiniog before rejoining our coach for a scenic journey through the beautiful Conwy Valley to Llandudno.

After breakfast, we enjoy a truly scenic rail experience as we board the magnificent Welsh Highland Railway in Caernarfon for a steam‑hauled journey into the heart of Snowdonia. The line twists through forests to Beddgelert and continues through the treasured beauty of the Aberglaslyn Pass. We then visit the remarkable village of Portmeirion, known for its Italian‑style architecture and sub‑tropical gardens, before returning to our hotel with a brief stop in the charming alpine‑style village of Betws‑y‑Coed.

Today, we journey to Bodnant Garden, picturesquely located above the River Conwy, where we will explore the beautiful gardens home to National Collections and Champion Trees and indulge in a sumptuous cream tea. On arrival back in Llandudno, we follow in the footsteps of Victorian holidaymakers aboard a vintage tramcar to the summit of the Great Orme, offering magnificent views across the Irish Sea and enjoy free time before reconvening for our final evening meal together.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Llandudno and head to the station, where we begin our onward journeys after a memorable time in North Wales.
