Your Itinerary

Day 1 – Caledonian Sleeper

Inside a lounge car onboard an overnight train

Travel in comfort on your first day with a night on board the famous Caledonian Sleeper and arrive in the Scottish Highlands after a sound nights sleep. You’ll awake to stunning views from your cabin of the Scottish countryside and enjoy the magnificent glens and rugged mountain peaks. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel in romantic Glencoe. (Overnight in Glencoe)

Day 2 – Fort William

Today you are free to explore Fort William and Glencoe at your leisure, which sit among some of the most spectacular scenery in the world. Take a stroll through the glen or take one of the many short highland walks for some truly amazing views. Keep your eye out for deer and other local wildlife along the way. If there is time you can visit Inverlochy Castle for a taste of history.  After your day of sightseeing be stop by one of the traditional pubs, grab a seat by a roaring fire and have a wee dram for the true Highland experience. (Overnight in Glencoe) B

Day 3 – Jacobite Steam Train / West Highland Line

Embark on a scenic train journey described by some as the world’s most beautiful. The Jacobite winds its way through breath-taking Scottish scenery. You’ll pass lochs and mountains, across the impressive Glenfinnan Viaduct and on until reaching the seaside town of Mallaig. Explore this charming coastal community before returning to Fort William. When the Jacobite is not running enjoy this beautiful journey on the local Scot Rail service. (Overnight in Glencoe) B

Day 4 – Fort William to Oban

Your journey today takes you from Fort William to pretty harbour town of Oban. After checking into your hotel why not take a walk to McCaig’s Tower and Battery Hill, which is a perfect vantage point for viewing Oban and the nearby islands. (Overnight in Oban) B

Day 5 – Oban

Begin your final day in Oban by exploring the ruins of Dunollie Castle and take in the beautiful views of the island of Kerrara. Acquaint yourself with the history of the Scottish clans that occupied the area and enjoy lunch in the castle’s charming garden café. Alternatively take a walk to Gallanach and catch a ferry across to the island of Kerrera, explore Gylen Castle and relax for lunch in it’s exquisite tea garden. Oban hails itself as the ‘Seafood Capital of Scotland’, so be sure to try one of the seafood restaurants for dinner.  (Overnight in Oban) B

Day 6 – Oban To Edinburgh

Today you’ll board the train for Edinburgh, Scotland’s historic capital. Along the way, relax onboard and enjoy the romantic Scottish landscape. (Overnight in Edinburgh) B

Day 7 – Edinburgh

Take time today to stroll Edinburgh’s historic streets. Visit the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse on your included tour. Make your way to Edinburgh Castle perched on an extinct volcano overlooking the city and surrounding area. History lovers will relish the chance to see and learn about the castle and its place in Scottish lore. View the “Honours of Scotland” once the regalia of Scottish monarchs. Be sure to visit the city’s oldest standing structure, St. Margaret’s located inside the castle complex. In the evening, take a stroll along the streets of New Town, with it’s stunning Georgian architecture. (Overnight in Edinburgh) B

Day 8 – Your Journey Ends In London

Board the train to London. We can assist with accommodation or adding another rail journey to your holiday.
